Why travel vegan?
As an avid environmentalist and traveler, I know international tourism has a harsh negative impact on the environment with the excess carbon emitted during long distance vacations (learn more here). For this reason, I try to decrease my carbon footprint as much as possible while exploring a new country or city. The easiest way to do that is to take control of what you eat & ditch animal products.
Raising animals for food is the one of the greatest human-caused source of destruction to our environment; it causes the largest source of greenhouse gases, land use, soil degradation, water pollution and rainforest deforestation. It’s also a major contributor to air pollution, ocean dead zones, global habitat loss, and species extinction. So why not decrease your consumption of animal products? Not everyone has to go vegan, but we should all try to decrease the animal products we eat at home and abroad.
